Strategic Priorities
Where We Are Going
Looking ahead, ADTA is focused on building a strong, unified, and sustainable future for the dental therapy profession. Our priorities include:
- Strengthening the national voice of dental therapists through membership and leadership development
- Expanding mentorship and career pathways for students and early-career providers, with a focus on urban and rural underserved communities; not because dental therapists are only for low-income communities, but because this is where the greatest need exists
- Advancing workforce research, compensation transparency, and data-driven policy solutions
- Supporting state and Tribal efforts to implement dental therapy responsibly and effectively
- Convening the profession through national education and workforce development opportunities
As access gaps persist and workforce shortages continue, ADTA remains committed to uniting the healthcare community, supporting dental therapists, and advancing equitable oral health solutions that ensure every community can receive the care it deserves.
